THREE people required first aid for smoke inhalation, while one was also taken to hospital with burns to their foot following a fire during the early hours of this morning believed to have been started by a candle.

At 02:41 fire crews from Lymm and Stockton Heath attended at a property on Hunts Field Close, Lymm.

A candle is believed to have started a fire in the back bedroom of the domestic property. Three occupants had self-evacuated by the time firefighters arrived at the scene.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus then used a high pressure fan to clear smoke and gave first aid to the occupants who were suffering from mild smoke inhalation. One of the casualties had also suffered burns to their foot and was taken to hospital by ambulance for a precautionary check.
