Story of betrayal and blackmail

A BOOK that tells a tale of betrayal and blackmail involving a chase across England and France has been penned by a Lymm woman.
Gaynor Kay, of Rushgreen Road, has written “Pebble in the Grass” a romantic novel set in the 1930s.
It tells the tale of a young woman, who after losing her mother, goes on a journey to London to seek out her father who abandoned her when she was 10.
Gaynor said: “In London, she discovers a new life from the country set and a new beginning. She faces the dilemma of motherhood, betrayal and blackmail, a frantic chase across England and France, leading ultimately to murder.
“The book is based on a stage play I wrote for a theatre group I ran at the time. Inspiration for many of the rural locations come from Lymm, where I now live along with stories of my gran’s trips to London in the 1930’s and her life in Cheshire as a young woman.”
The book is on sale at several shops in Lymm and Warrington.
Gaynor was born in Manchester in 1975 and has been writing since childhood. She emigrated with her family to Australia when she was eight and studied journalism, before returning to the UK in 1992.
She now works as a lawyer in Manchester with a major law firm, and is working on the sequel of her book, which is set in World War 2 France.
