Teenage boy appears in court accused of murder as trial date set for January

A teenage boy today (Friday) appeared in court accused of murdering a woman, who was found dead outside her home at Chapelford in Warrington earlier this week.

Chintzia McIntyre, 48, died earlier this week following what police described as a “serious assault”.

She was pronounced dead at the scene after police and paramedics, as well as an air ambulance, were called to Phoenix Place in Chapelford, Warrington, shortly after 9.30am on Tuesday.( August 29)
The 17-year-old defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Liverpool Crown Court via video link to HMP Wetherby. The boy, who was wearing a grey jumper, spoke only to confirm his name.

The Recorder of Liverpool Judge Andrew Menary, KC, remanded him into custody until November 17 when he is due to enter his plea. A date for his trial, listed for five days, was fixed to begin on January 29.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said yesterday that “the charge relates to an incident which police were called to at around 9.40am on Tuesday 29 August in Phoenix Place, Warrington.
Chintzia McIntyre, 48, had been seriously assaulted and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
