Grappenhall bounce back out of relegation zone

GRAPPENHALL bounced back out of the Cheshire County League premier division relegation zone with a fine win over third placed Hyde.

After being put in at Broad Lane, Grappers hit a challenging 240 all out in 53.5 overs.
Arav Shetty hit 87, Tom MacRury 60 and skipper Pete Barnes 45.
At 36-4, Hyde were in serious trouble and things did not get better for them as they crashed out for 95 in 37.4 overs.
Grappers used five bowlers – and they shared the wickets between them, MacRury being the most successful with 3-29.
Grappenhall 2nd lost by 73 runs at Macclesfield where the home side batted first and hit 208-9 in 50 overs.
Stanley Pennington took 4-49 and Ross Arrowsmith 3-32. Grappenhall were dismissed for 135, Lucas Read hitting 51 and Arrowsmith 41.
Grappenhall 3rd won by two wickets at home to Bowdon, who batted first and hit 156. Zach Tully took 4-36.
Grappers batted well to total 159-8. Top scorer was S Ramakhishnan with 56.

Warrington lost by seven runs after a keenly contested game at Tattenhall.
Skipper Patrick Tyrrell won the toss and elected to field first – a decision which looked a good one at first as the home side lost two wickets for two runs.
But the middle-ordered rallied and Tattenhall finished on 164 all out – a total that should have been within Warrington’s reach. Umer Zeb took 4-61 and Brad Roden and Chai vGadepalli picked up two wickets each.
Tyrell schored 73 when Warrington replied, but he got little support from the rest of the line-up and Warrington finished 157 all out.
Warrington 4th lost by one wicket at Ashley after being asked to bat first and hitting 177-6. Amrit Pal Singh and Sukhwant Sandhu hit 64 each.
The home side got the runs in 39.4 overs with James Short, 2-21, the most successful Warrington bowler.
Lymm Oughtrington Park won by 88 runs at Westminster Park, largely thanks to a blistering innings of 93 by opening bat Antonnel Atwell which included eight fours and a six.
Arvind Pallai chipped in wih a useful 30.
The home side were bowled out for 85, Anthony Spaven taking 6-20.
Lymm 2nd won by one wicket at home to Bredbury St Marks.
The visitors were asked to bat first and reached 153-8 in their 50 overs. Avanish Pandey took 3-40.
Lymm reached their target for the loss of nine wickets, Gagan Juneja hitting 37 and Pandey 34 not out.
Lymm 3rd lost by four wickets at home to Runcorn.
Batting first, Lymm were all out for 166, the bulk of the runs coming from some big hitting by Graham Waumsley, 50 and Dave Boucher – batting at Nu mber 11 – 59 not out.
Appleton went down by seven wickets at home to Knutsford after being bowled out for 104, Wesley Jenkins top scoring with 49.
The visitors reached their target for the loss of three wickets in 24 overs.
Appleton 3rd lost by 68 runs at Chester County Officers, bowled out for 86 in 34 overs.
Glazebury went down by 132 runs at home to Malpas, who batted first and hit 177-9, Ben Marote taking 3-18. Glazebury were rolled-over in 23 overs for 45
It was a similar story for Glazebury 2nd who lost by two wickets at Cheadle Hulme.
Glazebury were all out for 68 but fought back to take eight Cheadle Hulme wickets before eventually losing. Guru Boggula took 6-28.
