Family Fun Day at Birchwood Shopping Centre with Warrington Wolves Foundation

BIRCHWOOD Shopping Centre will play host to a Warrington Wolves Foundation Family day on Tuesday, August 22nd and invites families and rugby fans alike to meet the players and join in with training exercises and drills. 

From 10.30am The Warrington Wolves Foundation will have players from both the Learning Disability and Wheelchair Rugby teams taking participants through their paces with fun exercises and games. There will be coaches on site to advise on how to get into rugby, offering health and fitness advice and the benefits of playing team sports.
Warrington Wolves superstar prop, Joe Philbin, (Pictured above) will be at the centre from 1 – 2.30pm to meet with fans and offer advice to any budding young rugby players. Philbin joined Warrington Wolves in 2014 and was selected for the Lions touring team playing Down Under in 2019 and earning caps against New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Some of the highlights of the day promise to be a visit from Wolfie, the Warrington Wolves much loved mascot as well as an appearance from Wolf Print Dance group who will be thrilling fans with performances throughout the day. There will also be arts and crafts from the Wolf Print Art Group.

John Magee, Centre Manager for Birchwood Shopping Centre, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with the Warrington Wolves Foundation for what promises to be a wonderful day at the centre on Tuesday.
“At Birchwood, we have recently announced our involvement with this year’s Warrington Running Festival as a Gold Partner which will see over 6,000 runners take to the streets in a series of kids, 10k and half-marathon races, taking place on 24th September 2023.
“We understand the importance of physical exercise and so this is just the first in a series of exciting activities to look forward to at the centre.”
