POLICE at Appleton, Warrington, have issued a health warning and are stepping up patrols after large “laughing gas” canisters were found dumped in a wooded area.
The eight large nitrous oxide canisters were found during a patrol in the Appleton area earlier today, Monday.
Police issued a warning stating: “Inhaling nitrous oxide directly from the canister is very dangerous. It can cause a spasm of the throat muscle and stop a person breathing.
“Also it can cause paranoia, dizziness and severe headaches.”
Officers will be increasing patrols round the area where items were found.
Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity should contact the police on 101.
