Two weeks of road closures

ANOTHER major roadworks scheme has been announced by Warrington Borough Council – involving two weeks of daily closures on two busy roads.
Work will start on August 8 to resurface sections of Clay Lane, Burtonwood, from Old Lodge Farm to Burtonwood Road, and Burtonwood Road from Clay Lane to the M62.
Road closures are likely between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
A council spokeswoman said: “To minimise disruption to residents, works will be carried out under these restricted hours and no weekend work is expected. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
“Road closures and alternative routes will be clearly signposted for the duration of the works.
“Warrington Borough Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by the roadworks.”

  1. How many more schemes are in the pipeline? Why is that WBC needs to undertake all of these schemes at one and the same time? All this makes for a very difficult time for residents which could be avoided by staggering the works. Not rocket science.
