LOCAL rugby club Bank Quay Bulls ARLFC is hosting a Memorial Day to mark the 10th anniversary since the tragic death of former player Alan Bundy Clare.

The popular pharmaceuticals delivery driver, who had played rugby league for Bank Quay Bulls for around 15 years, tragically fell to his death from a balcony while away in Benidorm on a stag do aged 35.

Chair Kelly Cragg said: “It’s been 10 years this September since Bundy tragically lost his life in Benidorm.
“We will be holding a memorial festival/fun day on Dallam playing fields on Saturday 19th August.
“We think it would be nice for his family to show we are remembering our friend.”

At the time of his death, the community rallied raising around £10,000 to help bring his body home.

The Memorial Day will feature a Family Fun Day, BBQ, DJ, bar, inflatables, rides and stalls as well as rugby games.
