Improved beer garden approved for popular pub

PROPOSALS for an improved beer garden at a popular Warrington pub have been given the green light by borough council planners.

The beer garden at the Rope and Anchor in Manchester Road, Woolston, will be enclosed with brickwork piers and corner posts and walls and railings to create a formal boundary and separation from the car park.
Existing tarmac surfacing and paving in the beer garden is to be replaced with Indian sandstone paving.
A secure bin store is also proposed at the rear of the site, enclosed by a closed boarded fence.

Brewery J.W. Lees say the changes will enhance the pub without having any detrimental impact on nearby residents.
They say the scheme will have no adverse impact on the highway, trees or ecology and will bring significant benefits to customers and visitors to the pub.
A pub has existed on the site since the 19th century, although the location of the building was altered in the 1960s.
The brewery has promised a high level of design and details, with the highest quality fittings, fixtures and finishes, complete with the highest level of craftsmanship
