Police grateful for community support after closure order secured at Chapelford property

UPDATED: Officers in Warrington have secured a closure order following reports of anti-social behaviour and drugs offences at an address in Chapelford, Great Sankey.

The closure order for the address in Union Square was granted at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 19 July.

Officers applied for the order following multiple reports that the occupants were engaging in crime and anti-social behaviour at the address in Chapelford which was causing significant distress to local residents.

After gathering a catalogue of evidence, officers from Warrington Beat Team attended court on 19 July and gave evidence of the behaviour happening at the property.
The occupants have since been ordered to leave the property, with all windows and doors being boarded up for a period of three months.
Anyone who enters the address during that time will be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.
Inspector Anna Keefe of Warrington Local Policing Unit said:“I am grateful that this closure order has been granted. The behaviour of those occupying the property was causing significant distress to local residents. This included drugs offences and anti-social behaviour.
“I would like to thank the community for their support, and I hope the order will improve the quality of life of those living nearby.
“I would continue to urge anyone who has any concerns about drug-related activity or anti-social behaviour in their community to get in touch with us and we will do the rest.”
Anyone with concerns about anti-social or suspicious behaviour is asked to report it to Cheshire Police via the Cheshire Police website or call 101.
