Wind turbine plan blown away

1

PLANS for a 20.35m high wind turbine at a farm near Culcheth have been thrown out by borough planning chiefs.
The borough council’s development management committee decided to refuse the application by Phillip Sharpe, of Lowes Farm, Kenyon Lane, Kenyon after officers said they believed insufficient information had been provided about the likely impact of noise on nearby residents
Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council had objected to the scheme, as had 58 nearby residents. But one resident had indicated support for the scheme which, he said, would supply the farm with renewable energy and reduce its carbon footprint.
The committee was told the proposed turbine would be in open countryside to the east of Kenyon Lane, in the Green Belt and more than 300 metres from the nearest dwellings.
