A PADGATE couple has been left heartbroken following the theft of their retirement campervan, stolen from outside their home during the early hours of the morning in less than 60 seconds!

Keith and Wendy Maddock had only recently returned from a month on holiday and were planning their next retirement adventure to France and Spain in October.

The van, a Globecar Roadscout R. Registered in 2020 worth between £45-£50k, was stolen by two males at 12.55 am during the early hour of this morning (Wednesday) and was literally taken in just 60 seconds from their property on Connaught Avenue, Padgate.

Keith, who has taken to social media in a bid for help to trace the vehicle said: “We are both okay but sickened at the thought that someone can just take something that they want. Police haven’t picked up any ANPR photos from any cameras.
He added: “We were looking forward to touring France and Spain this October for six weeks. We left all of our equipment in the camper including tv, bedding, bbq, gas cylinders, pan set. Now not possible.
“It’s pointless getting angry as wouldn’t achieve anything.  But the insurance company has said it could be in a shipping container waiting to be shipped to Europe already. That didn’t help and was really upsetting”

Anyone who has any information or CCTV footage from around the area please contact the police via 101 with Crime ref: IML-1594672
