Man pleads guilty to committing arson after car fire

A 23-year-old man has pleaded guilty to committing arson after a car was deliberately set alight in Warrington at the weekend.

Shortly before 7am on Saturday 8 July, police were informed of a suspicious vehicle fire on Fox Street, Warrington, by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Officers attended the scene and conducted enquiries.

Conner Murray, 23, of Co-operative Street, Chickenley, near Dewsbury was arrested on Sunday 9 July and subsequently charged with arson on Monday 10 July.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 11 July, where he pleaded guilty.
He has since been remanded in custody until a sentencing hearing at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday 8 August.
