CARE home resident Dot Francis couldn’t make it to her grandson Luke’s wedding – so Luke and his new wife Jasmin took the wedding to her.
The wedding party went to CLS care home Westy Hall at Latchford so Dot didn’t miss out on the big day.
Luke, who is a Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineer in the Army, is Dot’s pride and joy.
The two are very close and Dot was heartbroken that she could not make it to his wedding.
Not wanting her to miss out on the occasion, Luke, Jasmin and the bridal party, which included Dot’s daughter, Julie, and Dot’s husband, David, surprised the 74-year-old with the visit that enabled her to be included in the wedding photos.
Katya Lyon, home manager at Westy Hall said: “Dot was smiling from ear to ear when she saw the wedding party arrive.
“She was thrilled to be included in such a special day. The bride and groom looked lovely and it was fantastic to see how close Dot, Luke and the whole family are – it was a day she will never forget.”
