Police issue warning after resident falls victim to loan scam

LOCAL police at Hatton, Stretton and Walton have issued a warning after hearing about a resident who recently fell victim to a loan scam.

The resident had applied for a loan from an advert they had seen, their application had been approved however, before they could receive the loan, they were told them must pay an upfront fee to cover insurance for the loan.

After paying the fee was paid, the resident has not heard from the company again and the loan was also never received.
Sadly the resident has fallen victim to A “Loan scam” scheme.
Legitimate lenders will NEVER request upfront payment, if you are planning on taking out a loan for any reason always used a FCA approved lender.
If you are contacted by a lender in similar circumstances please contact https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/
