UP to eight weeks of road closures are set to come into force next month at Padgate to allow Scottish Power to carry out Network improvement work.

The closure order will impact the Green Lane and Station Road areas, with works set to commence on July 24.

Warrington Borough Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving as follows: Green Lane (southeast bound traffic) from its junction with Blackbrook Avenue to its junction with Whitchurch Close; Station Road (southwest bound traffic) from its junction with Harpers Road to its junction with Blackbrook Avenue.

The Order will be effective from 24th July 2023 for 8 weeks, with the closures implemented in phases, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative routes will be: Green Lane (southeast bound traffic) via Padgate Lane, King Edward Street and Manchester Road; Station Road (southwest bound traffic) via Harpers Road, Woolston Grange Avenue, Birchwood Way and Blackbrook Avenue.
The closures are required to allow Scottish Power to carry out Network improvement work.
