Woolston Rovers to hold very first beer festival

0

WOOLSTON Rovers will be hosting their very first Beer Festival on Friday June 30 and Saturday July 1 at their Monk Sports Club home, Hillock Lane, Woolston.

The Friday will run from 6pm-11pm and the Saturday from 2pm-7pm.
Committee members Liam Horrigan and Mark Brookhouse have taken a lead on the project, and with fantastic assistance from John Wilkinson and Jordan Millington at 4Ts brewery, along with the support of Monks’ General Manager Andy Prescott, their hard work will now come to fruition.

The event sponsor is Millstone Durbax for whom we are extremely grateful to, with huge thanks also to Open Age principal sponsor LNH Transport.
There will be fifteen different beers available to sample, and each of these barrels have been sponsored by local businesses; without this support it would not be possible for us to run the event.

Entrance to the Beer Festival will be £5 and that will include a commemorative pint glass and also a programme. The bar will be cashless with those attending purchasing tokens prior to choosing their drink.
On the Saturday, there will also be a ’20-year anniversary’ re-union of the Warrington Woolston Rovers side that claimed the inaugural National League Three title in 2003, beating Teesside Steelers 42-6 in the Final at Winnington Park Rugby Union Club. Anybody who was involved in the club at that time, whether it was as a player, coach, committee member or supporter will be made very welcome.
