Hospital lottery
ONE winner scooped the £943 jackpot prize in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital. Winning numbers were 3, 5, 7 and 12. A consolation prize of £25 went to a member of hospital staff.

Moss moths
AN insight into the world of the moth can be obtained at Risley Moss on Saturday July 16 when moth expert Jeff Clarke will help with trapping and identifying the insects. He will be on site from 8.30pm until late.

Bear hunt
A TEDDY bear hunt takes place at Penketh Methodist Church today (Saturday) as part of Penketh Carnival. Children are asked to bring their teddy bears and picnic to event from 12.30pm to 2pm.

Craft fun
ST Cross Church, Appleton Thorn, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year is staging a craft and fun day today. The event starts at 10am and continues until 4pm and will include demonstrations of spinning, weaving, lace making, book binding, tapestry, rug making, knitting, basket making, etc.

Meet the police
POLICE staging a community engagement day at the Springbrook pub, Grappenhall, Warrington, on Monday. The event starts at 10am and continues until 2pm and offers an opportunity to quiz Police Community Support Officers and trading standards chiefs.
