HIGHWAY planners have confirmed up to six weeks of evening road closures on a stretch of Cromwell Avenue at Old Hall, Warrington, starting later this month (July).
The closures will be in place from 7 pm to 1 am starting on July 17 for carriageway resurfacing works.
Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows: Cromwell Avenue from the roundabout at Cavendish Close/Old Hall Road to its junction with Ladywood Road/Westbrook Crescent; From Cromwell Avenue for 50 metres along the following lengths of road: Twenty Acre Road; Shackleton Close; Old Hall Road (north).
The Order will be effective from 17th July 2023 for 6 weeks, between 7pm and 1am, as and when signed on site. The works will be undertaken in phases as follows: Phase 1 the Roundabout at Cromwell Avenue/Twenty Acre Road/ Old Hall Road (north); Phase 2 the Roundabout at Cromwell Avenue/ Twenty Acre Road/ Shackleton Close. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Sankey Way, Whittle Avenue, Westbrook Way and vice versa. The closure is required for carriageway resurfacing.
