Students shine in Biology Olympiad

SIX talented Warrington students competed in this year’s British Biology Olympiad.
The Priestley College Biology students took part in the annual national competition for post-16 students. The competition which offers a wider syllabus than the traditional A-level, allows students to demonstrate their broader knowledge of Biology.
Three Priestley students, Jessica Baxter, Robin Brabham and Tom Howel, were successful in obtaining bronze awards. Hannah Davies, Jack Hynes and Daniel Darlington were all commended.
Robin’s success was remarkable as he added his bronze to a gold in Chemistry and a silver in Physics from those versions of the same competition.
Biology tutor Dr Louise Norbury said: “Allowing our students to test themselves in such a prestigious competition is very worthwhile and it was great to see that all of the group enjoyed some level of success.”
