WITH the start of the pre-season friendly games only a couple of weeks away, Warrington Rylands manager Michael Clegg has been busy revamping his squad adding several new signings ahead of the 2023/24 season.

First to sign on the dotted line was towering centre back James Butler who after coming through the Stoke City Academy has spent the last three seasons playing for Mickleover Sport
Appointed a Gorsey Lane in February, Clegg has signed four players who he has previously managed at former clubs.
Right sided defender Clive Smith has arrived from Atherton Collieries as has midfielder Ben Hardcastle who also served Clegg while he was in charge at Ashton United.

Following Clegg from Ashton United are centre back Matt Reagan and midfielder Ben Hough, two players well known to Warrington football fans as both count Warrington Town amongst their former clubs as does Joe Piggott a forward signed from Radcliffe.
Returning to Rylands for a third spell with the club where he started his career as a teenager is Scot Bakkor (pictured above).  A member of the 2021/22 NPL West championship winning squad he played against Rylands for Atherton Collieries and Guiseley last season.

Warrington Rylands revised pre-season fixture list:
