Blaze school evacuated

PUPILS and staff were evacuated from a Warrington school when fire broke out.
The blaze was at Gorse Covert Primary School, Birchwood and involved a light fitting. By the time fire crews
reached the scene, it was out.
But the school was evacuated and firefighters carried out a security check before anyone was allowed back into the building.
In a separate incident, fire crews deal with a blaze involving a large pile of wood chippings in Mill Lane, Higher Walton, Warrington.
They used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.
