Four fire crews tackle barn fire at Lymm

FOUR fire crews were called out on Friday morning to tackle a barn fire at Lymm involving bales of hay.

At 09:00 fiew cres attended reports of a barn fire on Bradshaw Lane, Lymm.

Crews from Lymm, Penketh, Warrington and Runcorn attended and used a hose reel and, with the help of a telehandler machine from the farm, they removed the affected bales from the barn to fully extinguish the fire.

At 11:00 Fire engines were reduced to two in attendance and the crews worked to move the affected hay to a field and used a hose reel jet and a water bowser to damp down the material.

At 12:40 following hot spotting the fire was confirmed as fully extinguished and a hand over was completed with the owner of the barn.
