Police investigate as rugby posts set on fire

POLICE have been asked to investigate after cushion pads on rugby posts were set on fire last night, Sunday.

At 20:24 one crew from Warrington was called to reports off a fire involving rugby posts on Victoria Park, Warrington, off Knutsford Road.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the fire involving cushion pads connected to rugby posts. Police were informed as the fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

Earlier at 16:44 one crew from Birchwood was called to reports of a fire in the open off Dewhurst Road.

The small fire in the open was put out by firefighters from Birchwood using beaters and a water backpack.

Then at 06:49 today one crew from Warrington was called out to reports of a moped well alight on Knutsford Road.
Firefighters attended and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

  1. There has been quite an increase in arson incidents in the town during the last month or so
    Police need to get on the case before the consequences are really serious
