A TEAM from a Warrington hairdressing salon scooped two out of three awards in a prestigious regional competition.
The Jakata team competed in the Redken NYC Awards Northern final, which saw a record number of entrants chosen from photographic entries based on the theme of “shapes and shadows.”
They were nominated for all three categories and seven members of the Warrington artistic team plus three models travelled to London to recreate the looks.
Salon manager Jimmy Sharpe said: “The judging process was intense. Getting to this stage was a feat in itself.”
Adam Carter, style director, said: “To be nominated for one category would be amazing, to get in all three demonstrates how innovative we are as a team.”
The Jakata team scooped two of the three awards. Natalie Doxey and Isobelle Lamb won the “Style Innovator” category. Jimmy Sharpe and Nathan Hynes won the “Male Expert” award.
The team now go on to the national final at the Redken Tribe event in London on September 12.
