Firefighters stop smouldering fire in wooded area from spreading

FIREFIGHTERS stopped a smouldering fire in a wooded area at Woolston from spreading on Sunday afternoon.

At 15:53 one crew from Birchwood attended the wooded area near Greys Court on Woolston Grange.

Smoke was seen coming from a wooded area. Twigs and branches were smouldering. Firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the fire and a thermal imaging camera to check for further hotspots.

In Another incident at 18:14 one fire engine from Lymm, attended reports of a bin on fire at Lymm Dam.
A water backpack was used to extinguish the small bin fire.
Then at 19:04 one crew from warrington was called out to reports of a fire on Paddington meadows off Larkfield Avenue.
Crews used a water backpack to stop a hay bay from smouldering in Warrington.
