Police appeal after sex attack

POLICE at Warrington today appealed for information from the public following a sex attack on a 17-year-old girl.
The girl was walking along Knutsford Road, Latchford, near to the new church when she noticed a man cycling towards her from the direction of the town centre.
He cycled passed her but then turned around and cycled back towards her before stopping and apparently adjusting the chain on his bike. He then walked towards her, pushing the bike.
As he walked passed her he reached out and indecently assaulted her before getting back on the bike and riding off towards Latchford village.
The incident was at about 3.50pm on Sunday and the offender was in his mid teens with mousy blonde short hair. He was wearing dark blue jeans and a navy blue T-shirt, which had a cartoon motif on the front.
Anyone who saw the incident, or who recognises the offender from the description, is asked to call police on 0845 458 0000. Information can also be passed on anonymously on the Crimestoppers hot line 0800 555 111.
