Man charged with drugs offences after being stopped by Police on M62

POLICE have charged a 59-year-old man with drug offences involving cocaine after a vehicle was stopped on the M62 eastbound between J10 and J11 near Birchwood, Warrington.

Mark Barker, from Nunts Park Avenue, Coventry was charged with possession of a controlled drug of Class A (Cocaine) and acquiring, using or possessing criminal property.
He is due to appear at Chester Magistrates today, Friday 19 May.

The charges relate to a report of suspicious activity on the M6 services. Officers from the Roads and Crime Unit stopped the vehicle as it drove toward Manchester on the M62 near Warrington and discovered a large quantity of drugs. Money was also seized at his address following a warrant.
