DESPITE grey skies and some drizzle, there was still plenty of community spirit at the Culcheth and Glazebury Community Day.

Organised by Culcheth & Glazebury Parish Council, the event on the village green was officially opened by Parish Council Chairman Neil Johnson.

Entertainment was provided by Children’s Entertainer Ian “Zippy” Lees, Northern Stars Dance & Fitness and the Mighty Smith Show, featuring “Strongest Men!”
It proved an uplifting experience for Ruth Campos-Stead when she was plucked into the air by one of the Strongmen who held her in the air on a chair with his teeth!

There was also a pet show, vintage vehicles and lots of stalls from local community groups.
There were also activities taking place in Newchurch and Culcheth Methodist church halls.
