POLICE closed a road at Warrington today while fire crews tackled a car fire.
The car was on the road in Birchwood Way, Birchwood and firefighters, one wearing breathing apparatus, tackled the outbreak with two hose reel jets.
The cause has not been revealed.
In a separate incident, fire crews went to Whitchurch Close, Fearnhead to deal with a kitchen fire. The blaze, involving a cooker, was out by the time they arrived.
Fire crews also went to Hale Street, Warrington, where a number of conifer trees were alight. No damage was caused to other property.
