Man arrested at Lymm Dam after making threats to carry out assault with hammer

FOLLOWING a 999 emergency call a man was arrested at Lymm Dam earlier today, Saturday, after making threats to assault somebody with a hammer.

Officers quickly attended the scene, however, the male didn’t fancy hanging around but ran straight into the path of other officers and was swiftly detained.

A hammer was recovered from the male’s vehicle.

He has been arrested and taken into custody for allegations of causing an affray, possessing an offensive weapon and failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.
