Win a chance to play at Wembley

YOUNG footballers in Warrington have the chance to show of their skills and win a place to play at Wembley.
A “StreetWise Soccer” tournament is being held today (Saturday) at Culcheth High School. Under 13s play from 10.30am to 1.00pm and under 17s 1.30pm to 4.00pm.
StreetWise Soccer involves three versus three footballers playing a fast-paced game with the focus being on creative skills rather than winning at all costs. They will be competing for a chance to play at the grand final in Wembley.
Players can just turn up on the day and there will be a host of other activities to try such as body zorbs, kwik cricket, karate, boxing and a junior assault course.
Cllr Colin Froggatt, (pictured) the borough council’s executive member for children’s services and education said: “This tournament is a fantastic opportunity for keen footballers to show off their skills and potentially win the chance to play at Wembley.
“This event is a great example of a wide range of local organisations coming together to do something positive for the young people in our community. I hope lots of young people and their families will come along to enjoy this exciting day out.”
The event has been organised by Warrington Borough Council, Youth Support Service and Leisure Services along with Participation Through Sport. Further details are available from Matthew Pilling on 01925 442874.
