THE M6 has now fully re-opened after an earlier incident involving a lorry shedding its load caused lengthy delays on Tuesday afternoon.
There were over eight miles of congestion and delays of over 45 minutes after the HGV shed its load across the carriageway between the Warrington exit of the M6 northbound (Junction 21), and Junction 21A, the M62 interchange.
The knock-on effect was to cause heavy traffic on the local road networks.
Two lanes have been closed but the motorway has now fully re-opened.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said at the time: “Shortly after 3pm today, Tuesday 25 April, police were made aware that a HGV had shed its load on the M6 between J21 and J21a.
“Lanes one and two are currently closed while highways officers deal with the incident.”
There were no reports of any injuries.
Scene clear and all lanes reopened on the #M6 northbound between J21 (#Warrington) and J21A (#M62).
