FIFTEEN Key Stage 2 pupils from Warrington’s Alderman Bolton Primary School travelled to Liverpool’s Anfield stadium to take part in a World Book Day event.

The youngsters had a busy morning completing drama, dance and writing workshops and worked with children’s writer Ben Lyttleton, who co-authored the ‘Football School’ series of books.

Then it was time for a quick tour of the stadium before attending an assembly delivered by Liverpool and England legend, Phil Thompson.

Head of school Sarah Morris said: “Phil delivered an inspiring assembly and the children really enjoyed meeting him afterwards.
“They were all incredible ambassadors for the school and really enjoyed getting involved in all the activities.”
Alderman Bolton Primary is part of Warrington Primary Academy Trust (WPAT), a community of eight primary schools educating more than 2,300 children aged 2 to 11.
