Thief who stole elderly woman’s purse and pension money receives suspended prison sentence

A thief who stole an elderly woman’s purse containing her pension money while she was shopping in Warrington town centre has received a suspended prison sentence.

The 69-year-old woman was shopping in Heron Foods, Buttermarket Street, Warrington when she had her purse stolen, which contained her pension money.

The offence was committed on 5th February last year, went he elderly retired female was left very upset and out of pocket.

Town Centre Beat staff obtained CCTV and liaised with other agencies – including the PSNI. They soon established their suspect to be one Luca Pardalin and circulated him as wanted. However, he proved difficult to locate.

On the 18th of April this year, officers in West Mercia Police (Worcester City Centre) made an arrest of three males of which Pardalin was one. This was for two similar offences on their patch on the 14th & 18th of April.
All three were charged and Pardalin was also charged with the Warrington offence. They were remanded to go before the next court. All three later received suspended prison sentences.
