RESIDENTS and staff from Cheshire Grange Care Home, Lymm, visited Liverpool for an afternoon concert by members of the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

The concert, “By the Sea” was themed around an ocean journey leaving Liverpool and returning home again.

Pieces included “Storm” from Britten’s Four Sea Interludes, Mendelssohn’s Fingal’s Cave along with more contemporary pieces.
The concert was created especially for people living with dementia to enjoy with their friends, family and carers, being performed in The Music Room with an ambiance fitting to the audience’s needs.

Activities co-ordinator, Jo Eland said: “Our residents and staff had a wonderful time at the concert. It was truly moving to see the residents so immersed in the music. We
do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment at Cheshire Grange as part of the lifestyle enrichment programme for residents.
“This was very special, seeing our Memory Lane residents having such a wonderful time doing something that so many of us do without a second thought.”
Cheshire Grange care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals.
It provides residential, nursing and dementia care for 50 residents from respite care to long-term stays.
