Carnival with a 1970s theme

0

THE 1970s is the theme of Croft Carnival this year – as the event has its roots in that decade.
Forty years of continuous carnivals will be marked on Saturday July 2, when the procession leaves The Plough at 12 noon.
The procession will progress through Croft, passing the many scarecrows displayed along the route.
Events on Croft Playing field start at 1.15pm with the crowning of this year’s Carnival Queen Hannah Manley.
Entertainment during the afternoon includes a sheepdog and duck act, Rosemary’s dancers and a band. Other attractions include circus skills, a miniature steam railway and children’s fairground rides.
If the weather is fine there will be a series of novelty races and games in the evening from 7pm.
Entrance is £1.50 per adult on the day or £1 in advance by programme. Entry for children is free.
