CASH, bank cards and a mobile phone were stolen during a terrifying burglary in the early hours of the morning at Warrington.
Police are appealing for help from the public following the raid at a house in Egerton Street, Howley, at about 1.20am on Saturday (May 28).
The victim – a 25-year-old woman – was asleep upstairs when she was awoken by the sound of breaking glass.
Two men forced their way into the house through the back door, ran upstairs and demanded money. One was holding a weapon – believed to be a hammer or something similar.
The badly shaken woman handed over about £70 in cash, bank cards, an I-Phone and some cigarettes. The men fled the scene with the property.
DC Matt Gagen said: “No violence was used but the woman was understandably shaken as a result of the incident. To be threatened with violence and have your home invaded in this way is a terrifying experience. We are appealing to anyone who may know who is responsible to get in touch with us immediately.”
One man was about 5ft 7inches tall, of slim build, in his early 20s. He had short dark brown hair, dark brown bushy eyebrows and was wearing a black shiny coat and gloves.
The other was about 5ft 9 inches tall, of stocky build with dull blonde short hair and pockmarked skin. He was wearing a black top with blue markings on the shoulders.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0845 458 0000 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
