Latchford – with 16 players on injury list – concede points

LATCHFORD Albion were left in the unusual position of having 16 players unavailable at the weekend, meaning they were not able to fulfil their fixture at Haresfinch.
With six players currently on the injured list, two suffered head knocks the previous Saturday so safety protocols were observed.
Four players had work commitments that could not be cancelled.
In recent weeks a number of Under 18’s have represented the Open Age but they were also unavailable this weekend leaving coach Martyn Ellis (pictured) having to make a call to put player welfare first.
The club did liaise with their opponents but an alternative date could not be arranged leaving Albion with no option but to concede the points.
Fortunately Latchford have a week off which hopefully will allow the injured players to return ahead of their next fixture, when they host Blackbrook on Thursday April 13, 7.30pm kick off
