Road works at Orford extended due to delays with new gas main

ROAD works to install a new gas main in the Sandy Lane area of Orford have been extended for up to two weeks due to delays with the project.

Cadent engineers are currently working on-site to install a new gas main but due to delays on site, road closures will remain in place for a further two weeks.

Warrington Borough Council made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 23rd February 2023. The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Sandy Lane (northwest bound traffic) from its junction with Fisher Avenue to its junction with Northway and from its junction with Northway to its junction with Crowe Avenue.
The Order was to be effective from 6th March 2023 for 3 weeks, however, due to delays on site the closure is now required to remain in place for a further 2 weeks, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative route and reason for the works remain the same as previously advertised.
