Police issue warnings after reports of suspicious activity involving males trying door handles

POLICE have issued several warnings involving suspicious activity involving reports of males trying door handles across various parts of Warrington.

Local officers have received several reports over the past few days that unknown males have been seen outside properties in the Poplars & Hulme allegedly trying door handles. The areas that the reports have come from include Poplars Avenue, Buttermere Crescent, and Capesthorne Road.

Police are warning people to ensure that properties and vehicles are locked even when you’re at home.
Officers have been out on patrol keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity. If you see anything please report it through the proper channels via 101 or the Cheshire Police website and not via social media.

Meanwhile, similar reports have been involving males trying car doors in the Great Sankey area of Warrington.
If you live in the area please don’t give these thieves an easy ride. Take your time to ensure that all your valuables are removed from your vehicle and please ensure that your vehicle is locked overnight.
If anyone has yet to report suspicious activity please contact police via 101.
Similar reports have also been received in the Stockton Heath area of Warrington involving two males trying car door handles on Belvoir Road.
