THREE Warrington beauty therapy students are celebrating after achieving success in a national competition.
The Warrington Collegiate trio succeeded in the Beauty Therapy Level 3 category of the WorldSkills UK Competition, when they competed in the North West heat.
Alison Lancaster, 32, Rianne Chester, 17, and Ann Rust, 42, (pictured) won gold, silver and bronze. They showed off their skills in personal presentation, health and safety, hygiene, performance of treatment and client care.
Overall competition winner Alison said: “It was such a fantastic experience being part of an international competition and getting to showcase my work to industry professionals. It was a great opportunity and I’m so excited about hopefully getting through to the next stage.
“I think being a mature student and winning this competition proves that it’s never too late to go back to education and pursue your passion. I’ve had such great support from everyone at the college and I’m looking forward to the next challenge.”
The winners of each heat go through to the finals in Cambridge.
Paul Hafren, principal at the Collegiate, said: “We’re really proud that our students had the opportunity to show off their skills and creativity and we’re really looking forward to seeing them do well in the national final.”
