TWO fire crews were called out last night following reports of a car well alight on the M62 at Warrington.

At 22:24 crews from Warrington and Lymm were called to the incident on the M62 Westbound between Junction J8-7 near Burtonwood.

The fire, which involved one car well alight on the hard shoulder, was put out using one hose reel and breathing apparatus.
The carriageway was briefly fully closed in order to deal with the incident.

Meanwhile in another incident during the early hours of this morning at 12:22 firefighters were called to a report of a fire near Winwick Road, Warrington.
On arrival crews found the fire was a burn of waste materials on a construction site. However, it was blowing smoke over the nearby carriageway. One hose reel jet was used to put the fire out.
