A deaf, blind and emaciated dog dumped from a car on a busy road near Warrington has sadly died.

Warrington Animal welfare, who helped rescue Roxy, the 14½-year-old dumped Staffordshire Bull Terrier, have announced that she passed away peacefully last night💔🌈

In a statement, the animal charity said: “Roxy came into our care last month, she was emaciated, deaf, nearly blind, with an abdominal tumour, she has been dumped from a car near a busy road by her owner.
“She was such a charming and determined little dog, so full love, still enjoying a cuddle, a potter around and her food. She had been seen by the vet and was waiting in her amazing foster home for the results to see if there were any options for treatment.
“But sadly, life had other ideas and she quietly slipped away in her sleep🥺💔
“🌈❤️Roxy ended her life in comfort, surrounded by love, with a full tummy and knowing her BFF Tinks was safe! She will remain forever in our hearts!”
