Police seek owner after chained up dog bites warden

POLICE are seeking the owner of dog that bit a warden after being found chained to railings at a Warrington Park.

The incident happened at Dakota Park, Chapelford on Wednesday night following reports that a lurcher-type dog had been chained to railings.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Dakota Park on Burtonwood Road, Warrington just after 9.50pm on Wednesday, March 8.?>

“This was following reports that a lurcher-type dog had been left chained up to railings and had bitten a dog warden.
“Police swiftly attended the scene and found that the warden had sustained minor injuries.
“Officers, along with specialist dog handlers, assisted in getting the dog into a cage before transporting the dog to kennels.
“A number of enquiries are underway, and police are appealing to anyone with information on how the dog was left at the park to get in touch.
“Officers are also urging the owner of the dog to come forward.”
