MP hits out over blatant hypocrisy

WARRINGTON North Labour MP Helen Jones has slammed the Liberal Democrats over what she calls “blatant hypocrisy” on the NHS.
Ms Jones’ comments came after Lib Dem MPs failed to vote to support a Labour motion calling on the Government to abandon its plans which, they claim, threaten the future of the NHS.
She said:”I have always said that the Tory Government’s expensive top-down overhaul of the NHS is reckless and could severely damage the long-term future of our health service.
“Over the weekend Nick Clegg has been claiming that the Lib Dems would block the Government’s plans for the NHS unless they are changed.
“However, when he and his party were given the chance to stick to their word they refused to back Labour’s call for the reckless plans to be abandoned and instead voted along with the Government. This has been the pattern from the Lib Dems – they claim to oppose the changes but voted for the Bill at second reading and voted with the Tories on every amendment in committee stage.
“This time the ink wasn’t even dry on this latest promise from Nick Clegg before it was broken. The public are starting to get used to this from the Lib Dems.
“We need to hear from Warrington Lib Dems to know if they support these dangerous changes to the NHS or if they will back Labour’s call for them to be scrapped.”
A motion proposed by the Labour Party calling for the Government to abandon its plans to fundamentally overhaul the NHS was debated in the House of Commons.
It was defeated by 284 votes to 231 with all Lib Dem MPs opposing it.

  1. Yet another positive constructive contribution from the Jones woman. Never any suggestion on how to get rid of her party’s finacial mess.

  2. Perhaps Helen Jones would like to tell us how Whiston Hospital, built by Labour using PFI debt, is going to be funded without harming neighbouring hospitals? She needs give us no lectures on hypocrisy given her own record.

  3. Hypocrisy – Definition Labour – lets just think of the 10p tax rate do people remember that one

Maybe she need to get off home to nurse the wounds of her son Chris Vobe. He tried with all kinds of rubbish to damage Cllr Sue Bland. Chris Vobe – is he the same boy that drives around in a PORSCHE -In touch with people hey??? How many more of Labour have Flash cars????
