CHESHIRE Police’s special constables have received a £500 boost from charity group The Brian Kennedy Trust.
The money will be used to sponsor an award for the best community supportive special constable at an awards ceremony for “Specials” at police headquarters on July 2.
It recognises the outstanding work done voluntarily by special constables in delivering the benefits of neighbourhood policing to communities across Cheshire.
Special Superintendent Brian Woodward said: “The award will help to identify good practice examples from which other specials and neighbourhood policing units can learn, as part of Cheshire Police’s drive to deliver better and safer neighbourhoods across our policing area.”
The Brian Kennedy Trust was set up three years ago by the North West-based businessman and owner of Sale Sharks rugby club.
