Busy week for Roxy the blind, deaf and starving dog cruelly dumped by a roadside

ROXY the 14½-year-old, emaciated, deaf, nearly blind, tumour-ridden, little Staffy, who was dumped by her owner near a busy road has had a busy week and found an amazing foster home!

After coming safely into the care of Warrington Animal Welfare, Roxy has spent time with her friend, Tinkerbelle, who was also dumped from the car by the same man with a third dog Oscar, but for some reason in a different location.

A spokesperson for the animal charity said: “Sadly, they could not stay together for long as Roxy needs specialist care and a quiet home, but at least they know each other are safe.

“She has also been seen by the vet and we are waiting on the results and their opinion on if she can be helped and finally she has gone into an amazing foster home.
“Please keep your fingers crossed, but whatever the outcome, we will do what is best for Roxy.”

It is one of the latest heartbreaking incidents of animal cruelty, with Warrington Animal Welfare struggling to cope due to an increase in the volume of unwanted pets during the cost-of-living crisis.

Earlier this week an emaciated 15-month-old Oscar and 9-year-old Tinkerbelle, came into their care after being dumped out of the car by their owner from Widnes.
Following the story, they were contacted by concerned members of the public who recognised them to advise that their owner had a third dog, a senior SBT called Roxy, who hadn’t been seen for a while.
