Penketh firefighters involved in Turkey earthquake rescue mission

TWO firefighters from Penketh Fire Station in Warrington, are currently in Turkey, helping rescue casualties following the recent earthquakes which are believed to have claimed the lives of more than 40,000 people.

Penketh Fire Station is proud of the two members of Blue Watch who have been in Turkey with ISAR helping rescue casualties after the earthquakes.

CM Reid & FF Monaghan have worked tirelessly whilst out there and showed courage and determination. Thoughts are with those involved.

Dan Reid helped the UK ISAR Team rescue a woman trapped for nearly a week in the rubble.

The 77-strong UKISAR team have been working tirelessly on search and rescue operations in Turkey since the earthquakes struck.

The death toll across Turkey and neighbouring Syria is expected to continue to escalate in the coming days and weeks.
