Imaginative plans for two houses at Lymm

IMAGINATIVE plans for two new detached houses on land at the rear of an existing house in Higher Lane, Lymm have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council.

The new properties would share an access while the existing house will retain its existing drive. The development – half-way between Lymm village centre and Broomedge – would result in no negative or harmful effect on the character and appearance of the site, according to architects acting on behalf of the applicants.
Currently, the site is largely laid to lawn. But there are also existing mature trees including an oak and a spruce which the Woodland Trust estimate could live for 1,000 years and both of which would be retained.
Although some trees would have to be removed to allow the development to take place, significant new planting is proposed to retain and increase biodiversity and some newly planted trees would be moved.
There is also an option to build a hedgehog house and accompanying log pile in a sheltered corner of the site where hedgehogs would be undisturbed.
The proposals replace an earlier scheme, which was submitted in 2021 but subsequently withdrawn some 23 months later.
